1 in 6 of The Freedom Story' scholarship students has a history of childhood sexual abuse. What's even worse, this history increases their vulnerability to further abuse in trafficking. Their “3-3-5” program uses play-based techniques to teach kids about child abuse, how to recognize it, how to be clear about what kinds of touches are appropriate, and how to respond if they or their friends experience abuse. All of their students attend these sessions, often multiple times. We also present this program in local schools in the region. Children deserve better protection, and it shouldn't fall on them, but until we can rid society of this kind of abuse, it’s essential to do whatever we can to give kids the knowledge and the confidence to speak up in any inappropriate situation An excellent initiative set up by a former partner of Give a Hand, The freedom Story based in Thailand. 🙏 https://lnkd.in/dYHT3AWi
