In the 2023 Certificate of Secondary Education results, 12 of the top 20 students were male, and 8 were female. According to 211 Check.org , all except one of these students were from the science section. During the Girls in ICT Day repair session at Juba Diocesan Model secondary school in 2023, we noticed many female students were choosing science subjects. Still, very few were going for computer science, IT, or engineering courses at universities in Juba. Understanding why this is happening is crucial for creating a more balanced future. This analysis is the first step toward making real change. As per the South Sudan Education curriculum, senior two students must choose between sciences and arts when they move to senior three. This is the right stage to introduce them to different career options based on their earlier subject selections. Given the widespread use of technology in both professional and daily life, it is essential to introduce girls to the world of technology. The session with the girls and delphine nyaboke from Women in Tech Club CMU-Africa will discuss STEM careers and a demonstration of software application development using App Inventor, an open-source tool for creating computer applications. #WomenInTech #InspiringInclusion
