This is Amouzou, the bravest 7-year-old girl I have ever met. She had traveled with her mother from Benin, the country east of Togo, hoping for surgery. She was born blind in her right eye, and she was so excited to be selected for surgery. Most children her age are very timid about surgery, but Amouzou was all smiles. Due to her young age, she was fully sedated with the help of an anesthesiologist. The surgery was a success, and now she can see with both eyes! Amouzou and her mother expressed deep gratitude for the Sight.org team and the supporters who made her surgery possible.
