Today marks a significant moment as we celebrate the official signing of this Memorandum of Understanding between the soon-to-be-launched #timbuktoo University Innovation Pod #Unipod, University of Juba Official , and GoGirls ICT Initiative. The #UniPod is a unique initiative located at the University of Juba, South Sudan—one of the ten UniPod established under a UNDP initiative for African universities in collaboration with @UNDPSouthSudan. The rationale for placing the UniPod within a university rather than as a stand-alone entity is that it would thus link to the corpus of research and knowledge that is already in place in the university, through its faculty, who are likely to be experts in several technical fields. This momentous occasion serves as a bridge to a brighter future, breaking down barriers and building stronger connections in the #tech and #innovation ecosystem of South Sudan. Conceptualizing the idea to fit our context and seeing it become a reality is a milestone for #SouthSudan. And yes, something that we profoundly acknowledge today! With this collaboration, we look forward to this new partnership that will pave the way for the progress and growth of the different sectors within and the economy at large. #Unipod
