El Christo Panoramico, Taxco - Guanajuato I had no choice when part of my heart stayed behind after my visit to Taxco in Guanajuato, Mexico. What stole my heart was the Christ viewpoint or officially ' El Christo Panoramico" The famous VW beetle taxis will drive you up the steep streets to the top of Cerro del Atache hill where you will find Christ the Redeemer statue watching over all of Taxco in the valley below. It was constructed in 2002 and although it only stands 3m high, it can be seen throughout the town. At the top of the hill is an old slate quarry which provided material for the building of the town.
